This page explains what TheGetch collects, why, and the control you have over your data. It reflects how the product works today.

What we collect

When you create a candidate account we store your name and email. As you use TheGetch we also store the data you choose to add: your profile (headline, location, phone, about, skills, experience, education), the jobs you apply to and any note you attach, the jobs you save, any job reports you file, and your résumé file if you upload one.

Cookies & tracking

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they found us. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you open, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We do not use it for advertising, and we have turned off sharing that data with other Google products. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s browser add-on.

To keep you signed in we store a single authentication token in your browser’s localStorage (getch.token). This is strictly necessary for the app to function and is removed when you sign out.

How your data is stored

Your account and profile data live in our database; your résumé file is stored on our server’s disk and is only served back to you over an authenticated, access-controlled download. All traffic is served over HTTPS.

Your rights

You can download a copy of your data at any time, and you can permanently delete your account from your profile page. Deleting your account removes your profile, applications, saved jobs, reports, and résumé file. This cannot be undone.
